AKB48 is having a phenomenal 2011, having beaten the same Oricon first-week sales record twice already. According to Oricon, the single sold 1,045,937 copies on its first day of release, beating their previous record of highest first-day sales with "Flying Get". Now, they look to continue their winning streak with their 23rd single Kaze wa Fuiteiru.

Leaving behind their fun summer songs, Kaze wo Fuiteiru is a more serious song with a message for their fans. The single includes Kimi no Senaka by the Undergirls team as B-side track.
